Volunteers are the heart of our department. They help keep our parks beautiful and our recreation centers humming with activity. They share their skills, contribute their time, and enhance our lives.
Volunteers contributed approximately 276,860 service hours during FY 2015-2016, valued at $6.47 million. Individuals and groups share their talents and expertise by participating in senior adult and afterschool programs, park beautification projects like “It’s My Park Day,” and numerous other daily activities and special events.
